can you wear something conservative to hide the tattoos? a good friend of mine goes to interviews in button down shirts and trousers (very Banana Republic), and she wears a scarf on her head to pull her dreads out of her face, and out of sight for the first impression. you can still see them, but it looks more tidy and conservative, so she gets a fair shake at the job, rather than being rejected for her appearance.

I kinda disagree. to me, the most important thing is keeping a roof over my head, and having some sort of routine or structure in my life. and you never know whether you'll like a job or not until you have it. I figure, you get the job, then if you don't like it, you can look for a new one before you quit. personally, I can't stand to be unemployed, so for me, it's not a difficult choice.
