i know the ticking thing all too well!! stayed at a mates house and just as i was about to fall asleep i noticed the clock ticking, and the clock on the stereo was flashing, he fell asleep and i was left laying with the two things seemingly magnifying until it seemed like headlights and something burrowing into my head, it was very annoying!
