Not completely awful, but the Replacements had a very subpar performance in Portland in the late 80s when the lead singer was drunk, plus he got upset with fans in the front row, so dove in to fight them.  He ended up walking off stage and they ended the show early.  They even etched 'sorry Portland' on the inside of the vinyl on their next album because of that show.
