Thanksgiving doesn't sit well with me. Well, let's be honest. Holidays don't sit well with me. Birthdays, military remembrance days, that day coming up that has to do with someone else's religious icon. They just make me feel hypocritical, excluded, and icky. When I lived in Chicago, my friends and I did this great vegan thanksgiving...but now that I live close to my family again,...

Bread is actually relatively easy...it takes a while because you have to let it rise, but all things considered, it's not that hard to make. :-) The hardest part is always waiting for it to cool enough to cut into!

And yes, definitely piles of puppy kisses and snuggles. She's a sweetie-pie!

Howdy Olsen...

Happy to hear you voted - though of course, because of Oregon's "mail only" deal, this is impossible to verify. (I miss the little "I Voted" stickers you get from an actual polling place!) Still... you have an honest face, so I'm willing to believe you. If you really want a cookie, I'll buy you one. Honest.

P.S. Dames! Whatcha gonna do?!

You ought to know that I used to live in DC; sometimes when I was there, black men would stop me on the street to tell me, Girl, you white, but you got a black girl booty.

In Chicago, it was much the same: Thats some big ass. You may be white, but from the neck down, you a black girl.

So thats how we...

I was born and raised in Texas, but only 23 miles from the Louisiana border, so for all practical purposes my home town is more Southwest Louisiana than Southeast Texas. Anyway, I grew up and spent my entire life in a heavy Cajun French culture, which I love. To me, the are few thinks more appealing than a Cajun-French accent. I love the culture and the people, and consider myself lucky to have lived my entire life in and around it!

Or sometimes honesty can lead to bluntness, which can hurt......
As for breaking hearts I hope you just break them and not annihilating them

Haha I've never been accused of being blunt.. People say I'm too gentle with the truth.....I've noticed that's kind of right....I'll say something as kindly and directly as I can....and it's like no one even heard what I was saying. People find their own meaning in the kindness sometimes, I guess. I hope I'm not an annihilator. I'm friends with most of my exes.....that's a good thing....right?

ChristmasJones Get in line!

Seriously though. Once in a while, very rarely, I'll see something someone else created, and I ache a little that I didn't make it myself.

schiavona:
I'm so glad to hear you are writing. Okay, you did promise to edit, but write while you have the ideas. Editing can come later. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for your books...

Being a gentle person, soft and kind to other people's hearts is a good thing. Sometimes it can hurt, but in the end, it's better for you.

Damnit. I said I wouldn't. I swore I wouldn't.

But last night at midnight, I accidentally started writing a new book.

So much for editing the last one...

I understand this completely. I was at the tail end of a book that had been going since June. It's good to get some time off from it, so edits can be done with "fresh eyes". Problem here is outlining, which is taking up my first few Nano days.
