Today I left work early went bouldering. I've always climbed with a lead-rope. This is just...different. Harder, as it's a lot more back-hanging climbing, and I'm more a chicken when I know I can just fall fall. But fun. I'll go again.

I'm still alive.
I've been spending every spare minute editing my book.....I've read it backward and forward (no, really, I mean that literally), hacked it up and put it back together. I'm just finishing reading it in chronological order (it was written as a non-linear memory), and I'm glad to see it holds up just as well.
So in a weird way, the whole mystery...

Sorry about your romantic woes. Sucks.
I'm editing my NaNoWriMo novel this month. I've never edited on this large a scale before. I feel a large weight over my head as soon as I open the file.
How do you handle the stress of editing? Curious, you seem to have a little experience in this regard.

Yes, I almost felt guilty the other day, sunny, mid 60's here in the city, while people are buried in the snow. But then I got over it.
I think the flowers got tricked here, they are blooming early.

I was running across a busy road in the rain and I somehow pulled my trousers down then fell and tumbled in front of everyone

I got up in the middle of the night once and pissed on my heater and when questioned responded with "It's not a real radiator!" Yes, I had been drinking that night.
Once, now many years ago, I was flying from Chicago to Portland, and picked a seat on the airplane next to a scruffy fellow I thought I could get on with for the next few hours of my life.
After that, I've met up with that kid in Portland and Chicago, along our various travels here and there.
Tonight he IMed me because he broke...

Yep, I get in tonight and have nothing in particular planned. Doing some telecommuting work during the day, but that's flexible. If you're too swamped I of course understand, but I'm available pretty much whenever.

Merry Christmas* AND Happy New Year I hope you have a great christmas !

Last week was the 8 year anniversary of the death of my best friend from college, Meredith. It's always a weird day for me, but I try to do something special to mark the occasion in a good way, rather than a sad one.
Meredith was in New Zealand when she died, and her description of that place clung to me in this way that...

Thanks for your thoughts. I guess there aren't any easy answers...but it wouldn't be worthwhile if it were easy, I suppose. I've been taking a wee break from photography...as usually happens in winter, ha...and it's been nice to gain a bit of perspective. In the meantime, I've been finding myself writing, instead. So apparently, something in my brain needs to create something all the time...ha.

Wow that is a deep connection.
So I have an e-date with a certain girl I like in London. We need to buckle down and actually book our little trip to Amsterdam. London is 8 hours away from Portland, which means I'm supposed to stay up and she's supposed to get up early just so we can sync times so we're not stuck emailing while one or the other of us...

That movie plot is really unrealistic and does not make all that much sense - someone does not suddenly just decide that they are straight just like that because someone told them that they are. Some people force themselves to be straight because they feel it's not OK to feel otherwise - someone I know seems to have done that to herself and it's sad to see things like that happen.
As far as sex goes - in general I think that it should be about quality over quantity, and finding a middle ground that both partners are comfortable with. People who measure it by numbers and emphasizing quantity really are shortchanging themselves by pooling together a whole bunch of low quality stuff and pretending that it's decent just because there is so much of it.

That I am, well at least out living.
I hope you have a great time in Amsterdam when you go, it's a beautiful city and has this incredible light. Maybe it's the way all the water reflects in the windows or something, but I've never been anywhere with that kind of light before.
Oh and that seems like exactly the kind of movie I would get annoyed with after watching maybe two minutes..

Excellent work! I just hit 50,000 words ... a year after I started it in last year's NaNoWriMo. The story's nowhere near finished, so still loads to write yet, but I'm happy to have hit this milestone.
