My little dinner went well over the weekend. I got nothing but complements. I made the samosas and Palak paneer.

I have a little Chihuahua mix dog. He is just over a year and 4 months old and was abused by the people I got him from. Ive had him for about 4 months. To this day he still has no manners and can be...

What a cutie.
Years ago, my family adopted a puppy. Were pretty sure he was abused. But my parents have kept him for years now, and hes a happy, healthy beastie.

So, Im sure your pooch will go onto great things.

AS IF you hadn't already planned on making samosas. ..I mean, what else works well with palak paneer, texturally speaking?

Ah. . .dogs. . .dogs. . .dogs . I recently had to give up my Great Dane, Hazel, and it still breaks my heart. I so badly want to visit her, but I know it will kill me to see her at her new home. I hate dogs! I swear that I miss the great ones in my life more than anyone or anything else.

HELP!!
Im making dinner for a few people (6) tonight. Im a good cook and can make pretty much anything and it will turn out yummy.
Im not opposed to meat or vegetarian dishes. I do not like fish or fish-like things. I LOVE Indian food and like making my own paneer cheese. I love lots of other foods too. Anyone have a recipe or...

hope it all worked out!!!

I ended up taking the first suggestion and made the samosas and plak paneer. Got to double up the use of the fryer for the cheese and the samosas. Everyone was very impressed and I don't think they even noticed they had a totally vegetarian meal. I am allergic to peas, so I mashed up some garden burger and used that as filler in the samosas along with the potato.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, now I have new stuff to try for a few weeks. smile

Well it looks like my friend lost the election by 7 votes. What a shame frown

Today was a big catch up day for homework, and I have felt pretty angsty for no particular reason. Does anyone else have that inexplicable unrest and discontent in what should be a fairly acceptable day? I guess it could be because I ran out of Naked Juice (I love...

i'd vote for you, but only if ran on a hookers and whisky platform.

that's great tho' if you're serious about running just to shake things up. everyone should do that. Hunter S. Thompson only lost his bid for sherrif of Aspen by five or six percentage points and the name of his party was Freak Power[/i}. if he could pull that off, damn near anyone could, i'm sure.

good luck.

Today was a local primary election and a friend of mine was running for office, so despite waking up feeling awful for some unknown reason and missing class today, I did manage late in the day to drag myself down to the voting booth and participate in the one peaceful thing every citizen can do to effect change.

It was fairly coincidental that I was...

Ok, Im going to get political here regardless if I piss some people off.

Im a Libertarian, Im open about it and part of that involves not telling anyone what to do or not do, but rather trust in each persons ability to make good choices and to take personal responsibility for any bad choices they do make. So Im not here trying to say...

but anywho. yeah these guys need to be slapped in the head with a rubber mallet a few times.
blatant ignorant egocentrism if ive ever seen it....
and boy have i ever just seen it.
I think id be sending dos attack streams virii and hacker kiddies galore to whomever had sent me something like that :x biggrin

---- uhm Im trying to remember a quote about patriotism involving a healthy amount of rebellion/revolution by a former foudning father president type but cant remember it right off hand... in short a little dissent makes one a patriot rather than one who isnt. *shrugs*

the promo also scares me shitless... conjuring images of nazi german and stalinist propoganda machines like whoa.
please let this end and at least the less ignorant of the masses regain a little control. this is all smile

oh and welcome to sg
ya sure look cute tongue

This is only my second batch (or 4th if you count two failed experiments. Cranberry, it seems, is too acidic to start fermenting at all.) so I wasn't inclined to push my luck with more than that. The first batch came out beery, and went sparkling. (Oh, so that's why champaign yeast is a questionable choice for mead brewing, eh?) Having learned from the last batch's mistakes, I'm doing half of everything differently this time around, including being a raving fanatic about racking the stuff.

(BTW - it's normal here to respond to people on their journals - they see the comment number bump that way. Easier all around. Entire conversations happen with each person posting on the other's journal.)

Oh I today has been one disaster after another, the first severely paled by the second.

My kitty Shadow, who is my baby, the best cat ever and so on was attacked by a dog! He meowed to come in and so I let him, he was walking slowly like he wanted to be picked up and when I did he flipped out and let...

I was so sad this morning. I love making bread, rolls, pizza, etc and life got so much easier when I got a bread machine. I don't think I could live without it anymore really. I guess I'll have to now because much to my dismay, the little kneading paddle in my bread machine basket snapped right off this morning!! I was mortified. I went...

I saw more police cars out today than I have seen all year combined! It was crazy! I guess they want to let everyone know to not even think about driving intoxicated.

While driving on the freeway, I saw a little clusterfuck of 6 all within 100 feet of each other. Not in a formation but I guess they had someplace to go. Then I...
