I agree totally. It's why some of us are overly nonchalant, and some of us are hypperreactive, and everything in between, while usually only being able to truly understand responses like our own. I don't think we realize it nearly enough, though -- that those things aren't just our "preferred ways of being," -- they were grown. They require gentleness.
