Friends ... people are lucky if their friends number as many as the fingers on one hand. Mostly, you'll have acquaintances both distant and close, but friends are precious and few. Putting sexuality into the mix complicates matters, but it is a complication hardwired into our psyche.

here's an interesting quote for you: "Suffering is justified as soon as it becomes the raw material of beauty." It was actually a tatoo on the back of the neck of Adria Suicide, and I thought it was rather inspiring. While loss of innocense does not necessarily equate to suffering, the essense of the quote can still apply to you where you are at... remember that there is always something beautiful in every situation, and you have the choice to really see it and appreciate that beauty, or not.

You know I live in Norman Oklahoma now... the University town. It's actually ok. I work at the University in the Liberal Studies college. They actually were impressed I used to work for the ACLU. I don't think any of us are real. We just construct our own smoke-and-mirrors, cardboard cut-out worlds and pretend that they are all that exist. Otherwise life would be too difficult to face.
