I'd be lying if I said I didn't hope anything came of it but it's early days. We're taking it slow. A few dates and stuff and see where it goes. Which I'm happy about.
As for the friend... tricky. I would be tempted to say that you should demand answers and explain how you're feeling. This will resolve the matter one way or another with this person. Although confrontation may not be your style, it didn't used to be mine but now I find it liberating.

And I'm not damned it seems. Just as I was bitching about that good proper job shafting me and not contacting me, I got an email saying I've passed the selection stage and have an interview next friday
