Joe Hill seemed to come out nowhere in 2007 when his first novel "Heart-Shaped Box" was released and became a bestseller and one of the best debut horror novels in years. Like all overnight success stories, it was a long time coming, the thirty-something writer having...

ah yes, living in los angeles. they're shooting something on my street in front of the coffee shop. maybe that's why the name of the coffee shop says "jack's latte mat" instead of "angeles bohemios" and has washing machines inside. there's no parking lot for my building, and for now street is a temporary towing zone on monday. parking really bites right now. everyone is...

The Hollywood version was surprisingly good.

Just watched it recently and I LOVE Daniel Craig, but I had such low expectations because the originals were just SO good. Wow though, just wow, everyone was fantastic and some parts of it were actually more tense and disturbing. Didn't hurt that Reznor and Ross put the music together either. smile

i love the Swedish ones! Nervous to see the Hollywood version .. sounds like it is good.. from what I am reading..

Interesting interview. I've never read any of his books but I think I am going to now.

This interview gives away too much of the novel's plot. Put a spoiler alert on there, eh?

This is an amzing film... My co-worker is from Burna and he told me about the film about two weeks ago... It is really tragic how many poeple have to live in such areas where fear acompanies the population... I rate this one a 10 and highly recomend it... Made me feel the need to want to do something to help these people.... Sad but what can we do.... Many peole die for freedom and many will continue dying.... As long as we have corrupt governments as well as Dictators.... Many people will live under oppresion and torment....
pyromethious:
Not to draw a comparison, but this further humbles my understanding of that part of the world than when I watched the 'behind the scenes' for the latest Rambo film that covered the same conflict. One of my friends from highschool calls this place home and I had no idea that it was so crumbled. And then we all saw the news of the Monks. That brought on memories of tiananmen square. While I have lived in places of turmoil before, you forget that just because you live in peace, that doesn't mean that things like this do not exist and require the attention of all or it will continue.
