I think the most fun times I've had in college were the early morning times. We'd play AD&D till 2 or 3 am. I'd join a different group and play till 5 or 6am. you'd probably enjoy snow crash. it's definately interesting, to say the least. the best thing about it is that stephenson doesn't 'go hollywood' with using all sorts of random tech terms all over the place just to jazz up the story. and if you like it, i'd recommend cryptonomicon as a followup
...which makes me wonder, what 'progressive' language/concepts does our generation use/have that will eventually become insensitive and embarass our grandchildren after we're old and set in our ways so many years from now. Hmmm...I'm not sure to be honest.
