um. spinoza much? i'm as dark and introspective as the next teuton, but i honestly whiff a bit of opium addiction in that. not that i'm an expert, or anything. it just seems a little dire, fatalistic and head-trippy. which, while i appreciate, doesn't truly reflect on or affect my reality on more than a topical or tangential level. i'm not at odds with the world or it's people, or myself, unless i say so. i understand the duality suggested, but sense a tone of assent that leaves me out. i know the deepest evil, greatest good, and most apathetic insolence dwell in my soul, too. i did when i was a young boy. i don't need to have a catharsis, or confrontation with humanity to feel or understand that. kthxbye.

And I really really like the newswire story. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has pondered that perhaps spirituality and science are not fully mutually exclusive notions.

I believe I have a cute pic of you and the birds from game night in December, if so when I get it I will pass it along. (It was trapped on my old dead comp but my dad thinks he found my old pic folders and extracted them.)

Oh how I wish I could have been at game night for the big proposal. I'm so happy for them!
