That's a toughie... IMO, chronically single guys and studs are the same. They get with women for one thing and one thing only. sex. chronically single guy gains his title because he dates a girl, hits it, and goes on a few more dates and hump dates or so with no intention of taking the relationship past the 2nd or 3rd week because he's like. He may have the mentality that he can always get someone better. So he dumps the poor girl and goes back into "single status" until he finds another girl's panty that he wants to get in.
The stud is the same thing, but at a faster pace. Goes out on a Friday night, picks up a girl at the bar/club, hits it, kicks her to the curb the next morning for the walk of shame. Then does the same thing Saturday.
