Are there any Americans here that can help me with your experiences with Swedish (or nordic) names? Can you give me your best examples of your idea of a "standard" Swedish/nordic name :)
I am learning Swedish with Duolingo and need children's books or comics if anyone has a line on any or any titles.
@themauser hey, I know your post is quite old, but i started to learn Swedish, too :) I'm also using duolingo. Did you find some other useful pages/books/programs? Du är en jordgubbe <3
Gunnar, Bjorn, Aksel, Anders and Erik are all pretty popular for men.
Freya, Astrid, Ingrid, Agnes and Frida for women.
Despite actually knowing a few Swedish people from Sweden (Hans, Hampus, Mahsa, and Golsa - the last two being Persian-Swedish sisters) my go-to Swedish names are Sven and Inga, which may or may not even be Swedish names. If I were to have a Swedish person in one of my books, I would absolutely look up common names.
