Good weekend past.
After another horrid week at work where I fear that I'm shouting and swearing myself out of a job I went out Saturday night with my oldest friend (I've know him since I was 5).
It was cool. Had a few cheap beers in Glasgow's Best Kept Secret (1.68/pint of Carling) followed by a trip to The Cathouse. I hadn't been since mid-summer and it was a good one. The regular DJ was off doing his thing in Edinburgh and it seemed to make the night better. Pretty much all classic songs (80's and 90's). Good tunes (with the exception of Warrant's Cherry Pie - how did that ever get released).
The only drawback was that it seemed relatively quiet in the single female stakes (at least downstairs).
I did see one girl that took my interest (and she may even have been glancing back) but I bottled it (as usual). I'm pissed at myself a little for this - I told myself a few weeks ago that I was just going to try with women and accept rejection if that's what came my way but I just can't seem to find the stones to do it when it comes to the chase.
Sunday night was Wolfmother night. Great fucking show. The night was some sort of MTV2 New Bands thing but I think everyone there were there to see Wolfmother. They fucking rocked.
Next week I've got Fishbone. I've then got Tool at the end of the month - I'm a bit scunnered with this one. I saw them in the summer but bought tickets for this gig thinking that we would get a longer show. By all accounts, this is not the case - in fact the setlist is pretty much the same as what we saw in the summer - I'm not sure if this is some experiment to see how much money you can rip fans off for but I've also heard that they're coming back again next summer - won't be going to that one.
Got tickets for NIN in February - unfortunately its balcony seating but I'll live.
