I am far too honest, it is my downfall. I announce in my profile that I have an STD in order to save my time, and my heart. Some members appreciate my honesty and thank me for it, though most just do not respond. After listing that my response went from 8/10 to 1/10. Oh well. I would rather be rejected now than own the road after falling for someone.

As a bluntly honest person, if asked a question, I'll tell you a straight and honest answer. However, it seems to me that people are so used to being lied to or deceived these days, that they're taken aback by honesty or just don't understand it these days.

I'm honest with major things i.e. I consider myself to be "honourable" but being overly blunt and rude, knowingly offending people just doesn't seem to serve a purpose to me.
You could take any sort of criticism of anyone and choose to give it to them tactfully and constructively, or you could choose to bluntly blurt it in their face, knowing it's going to hurt them. Anyone who deliberately chooses the latter, is just being rude, and a dick, (unless the other person wronged them in some way and deserved it) and is indeed someone I don't want talking to me.

Honesty is a good virtue but so is kindness and compassion. Maybe sometimes that honest but blunt comment should be withheld. It takes two people to lie. One person to tell it, one person to accept it. If you feel someone is lying to you, then call them out on it. Just don't be that idiot that thinks everything is a lie, unless there is a person in your life that lies about everything, then cut that person out of your life.
I'm personally a fan of the obvious lie. I make obvious lies all the time in the hopes of being called out on it. And if I'm not called out on it then I'll call you out on being so gullable and easily fooled.

We lie for respect, we lie to protect, we lie for personal gain, we lie for politeness, we lie for a lot of reasons throughout the day. I guarantee every single one of you has told some kind of a lie today and if we were to go back and replay everything you said that even you would be surprised at the little white lies you let yourself get away with.
So don't be so quick to pass judgement on some liars. Liars that are aware that they're lying are more honest than liars that aren't conscience of it.
