Alright, now this blog may make me look like a pathetic loser to some, but I need to vent.

A few years back, me and my GF at the time had good jobs and our own place. It was great, being on our own and all. Little did we know that our workplace was about to go under, not closing down but enough to lose money which resulted in laying a ton of people off. So things happened and soon enough, me and my GF moved in with her mother, who was preferable to my overbearing parents by a long shot. A good year there, then me and the GF had problems which seperated us, eventually causing a break up (though we truly remained friends even to this day). To make matters worse, her mother lost the house due to foreclosure and we were all left homeless. I had literally no choice but to move in with my parents at the age of 29 while my now ex-GF and her mom moved in with her grandparents.

So fast forward to today and the point of my blog. My mother and father are generally good people. Sadly, they've always been very overbearing and as they've aged, they've gotten worse. My mother is the one who is easier to deal with usually. My father, on the other hand, is literally impossible. He is 76 and is pretty much "Grandpa Simpson without the funny". No shit, this is an apt comparison of him. He insists on ruling me and my mothers lives down to every move we make. He's always been like this, but with the shit economy and how money has been, he's somehow gotten worse. I have had trouble getting another car since the last one blew up on me, so I'm reduced to sharing the one my mother has for the time being. Thing is, HE dictates when SHE and I can use the car, despite it all being in her name. He insists that the more we use the car, the quicker it's going to die on us. He complains about the car constantly, bitches about how it doesn't have much life left in it (it's actually in good shape, but he always thinks the worst about any given situation). I can't even go to the fucking grocery store, less than a mile down the road, without a bitchfest arising. And this would be bearable if my dad possessed an ounce of logic in his head. But truthfully, and I am not trying to be mean here, he is actually below average intelligence, partially due to his upbringing in a rather harsh area of the south which resulted in a third grade education at best and even more due to his formerly heavy drinking which I am certain damaged his brain considerably. He has a temendous difficulty comprehending even simple things sometimes; I often wonder what he would think that his son reads Aristotle and ponders the deeper nature of reality? But I digress.

So the goal here is to somehow, someway, find better work (I work part time at Wal Mart now, trying like hell to get through school before I am too old) and get the fuck out of here again. Getting my own car would help matters and within the next few months that will be a reality, but as long as I am under his roof (he believes that he rules the household and my mother is a 'posession', bullshit of the highest order), he will dictate WHEN I can drive even my OWN car. He did this shit years ago before I moved out, and he's far worse now.

So there it is: my elderly father is a controlling asshole. And since I literally have nowhere to go at the time, I'm stuck here, taking his two bit verbal beatings and trying to keep my sanity. mad
ginge:
I hear you brother. You maybe physically stuck for now - but let your dreams take you the next step and you will soon be following along. I lost a lot during my education but I have much respect for you still trying your hardest through school. Dig deep. You will get your reward soon and you will look back and know this to be a period of your life that made you!
