I hate shaving.
Started off with those cheap disposable razors, a great way to remove that top layer of dead skin and leave your face burning all damn day. Then I upgraded to the expensive razor with the dispoable blades. The two bladed, the three bladed, the max 4 bladed razor with the built in auto sharpener. Ugh. Again a horrible part of self grooming.
So I decided to go electric. You never get a close shave, and it takes awhile for your skin to adjust to the electric shaver. this adjustment always happens when switching back and forth.
I'm sick and fucking tired of shaving, but I dislike anything more than a goatee. And now that I shave my head...
So I've decided to switch to the straight razor. I just got done using it for the very first time. And It Rocks. Yes I cut myself, yes it is very hard to use (but should get easier as I learn how to use it), yes you have to be very careful with the blade.
But the shaving soap and brush... very nice, warm lather on your face. The brush works the lather in better than that canned shit, and it lifts the hair making for a MUCH closer shave. Unlike disposable and electric razors, a straight blade carries the cut hair away instead of grinding it back into the skin.
Now I'm going to stick with the electric for shaving my head till I'm a damn pro with the straight razor. But I'm actually looking forward to shaving again, my face is as smooth as a baby's ass. I'm not going to tell the GF and see if she notices a difference.
oh, and the weather is shit again. Seattle sucks
