Just finished reading of this novella. Started with somehow mixed feelings but ended with a smile on my face. Love classical fantasy and this one is mixed with a mystery, nice fantasy races, a bit of gunpowder and ... some nice sex. Lavie Tidhar wrote it and got the British Fantasy Award.
