Weekend in pictures

So, this weekend I had the luck to be guest-listed for an event in town. A lot of interesting EBM/synth/industrial bands were playing, and naturally I brought my camera.

A few snapshots attached. Beware, image-heavy.

Hailing from Germany - Patenbrigade: Wolff. Never actually heard of them before, but they were doing their schtick. All dressed in construction gear, playing clichéd body music and collectively killing of a case of Staropramen on stage. On one occasion, they actually funneled beer through a plastic pipe at the crowd.

One of the highlights were this guy. Swedish chip-musician Nordloef showed the crowd just how abusive you can be with Gameboys to construct noise. It was really good.

And from Iceland - the harsh EBM masterminds in Legend. Apparently haven't been around that long, but given their intensity on stage, it doesn't show. Tight, spectacular and with a very charismatic singer.

This guy probably doesn't need an introduction. Ronan Harris from VNV Nation, doing what he does best - excite a crowd. Not a big fan of the latter albums, but they're always fun to see live. Few bands can get a crowd started as well as them.

British harsh industrial noise-guy ESA: Electronic Substance Abuse manages to totally kill the dance floor. Normally, bands in this genré can be quite 'boring' to look at, but he had a stage presence few other do.

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden. TraKKtor is a fairly interesting harsh EBM-band with an attitude. Borderlining on Aggrotech. Well worth a listen, and don't miss them live if you get the chance.

And, saving the best for last:

Claus "LeaetherStrip" Larsen. Danish EBM artist that's been active since '88. Rarely toured the first decades, but started doing so frequently a few years back. Impressive guy, to say the least.
