Well. Tomorrow's the big day. Dubbya and Kerry will go at it at Gammage tomorrow. ASU has been shut the fuck down... it's goddamn ridiculous! Structure 4, where I pay $200+ to park for the semester has been hijacked for today and tomorrow, leaving me virtually no place to park. Lame.
As bad as that blows, it's no where near the worst thing that has befallen my beloved university. The media outlets have invaded nearly every area of the mid and south western areas of campus, setting up shop to broadcast up-to-the-minute news bytes from vapid talking heads. This includes motherfucking FOX "FULL OF SHIT" News.
The entire perimiter around Gammage has been barricaded with large steel walls, reinforced with chain-link fence topped with MOTHERFUCKING RAZOR-WIRE. It's fucking ridiculous.
The topper is that I will be out as a legal observer later today and pretty much all day tomorrow. My hope is that the protests will be peaceful, but there are always 2 parties that end up starting some shit: the motherfucking Tempe Police Dept. (and the other police depts. being tapped for this event... including the ignorant and violent Phoenix police and the RACIST MOTHERFUCKING CHANDLER POLICE) AND the anarchist bloc. Those kids are semi-cool before the protest starts, but then they never fail to cross the line... breaking shit or starting shit with the cops, who are more than willing to beat down a protester or two in the name of "keeping the peace".
If the anarchists would just chill the fuck out, maybe not so many peaceful protesters would get injured or arrested... but then again, seeing how aggro the cops get just by seeing so many people in the same place, maybe things wouldn't be all that different.
I just hope the cops don't go charging their goddamn horses into the crowd... AGAIN. LIKE I SAW THEM DO DURING THE LAST PROTEST I OBSERVED.
