yet another late night update...
well, my date was rescheduled for monday. she had some stuff related to an illness she's been recovering from that came up.
obviously, this was a bummer, but i take comfort in the fact that she still wants to see me and that our date was rescheduled with a firm date, not just the "i'll call you sometime" line.
so instead of heading out, i stayed home for most of the evening - running a little maintenance on my comp and beginning the daunting task of converting my CD collection to mp3s.
around 11pm or so, i got a little restless so i decided to check out what was playing at the local theater - and booyah! i saw it: INNOCENCE: GHOST IN THE SHELL 2 - 12am.
THIS MOVIE WAS UNFUCKING BELIEVABLE. WOW. I've been a huge fan of Masamune Shirow since the days of 'Appleseed' and 'Black Magic M-66' and it was amazing to see his creations come to such vivid life on the screen. words can't describe the visual impact of this film... it's like nothing i've seen up to this point in an animated feature. all i know is that the CGI used in this film BEATS THE EVER LIVING SNOT OUT OF ALL THE OVERRATED TRASH BEING PUMPED OUT OF DI$NEY AND PIXAR. HANDS DOWN.
Don't believe me? Go see it and be prepared to see further proof of why the east still PWNZ the west in the technology arms race. you won't be disappointed!
Back to the topic of dating, i need some help. tonight was a 1st date scenario and i was planning on taking her to a nice chinese restaurant. when i mentioned the place, she stated that she liked it, but was "very familiar" with it. so now i'm a bit torn. should i:
a) take her there on monday b/c though she is familiar with the place, she enjoys going there and she would most likely feel more at ease going on a 1st date to a place with a bit of familiarity. OR
b) flip the script and take her to a place she hasn't been before in the interest of keeping things new and exciting, an element that new relationships tend to thrive on.
i'm leaning more towards option b. what do you think?

I think I'd have to go with Matthew Good Band - Beautiful Midnight. Favorite CD. Ever.
But really... if my house were burning down... those would be the first and probably only things I would grab. CDs and Discman.
