Hahaha... oh man, I have so been there. Trying to study law while living in the cultural heart of new york city was one of the most difficult things I ever had to do... and that was before I joined SG!!!
Even when there wasn't anything going on, it was soooo much easier to watch a documentary on the giant squid instead of reading palsgraf for the umpteenth time.
Still, school does beat working. Hang in there -- you're almost done, man.

I've been doing a lot of posting on here and in another online journal community lately (more there than here, because there are plenty of communities in which to do so). It's been a long time since I've gotten so involved in something, and I'm really enjoying it.
Anyway. You said you're slowly coming around to Kerry...if you ever want to talk about it, you can most likely find me on AIM (temperachel7). When I first registered, I did so as a Democrat. My parents were, and you know how it goes. But after that, I was an independent. Until now.
I guess my thing is that if W stays in office for another four years, we pretty much know how things are going to go (downhill). At least with Kerry, we have a fighting chance at avoiding a draft scenario, improving the way we're viewed in the international community, righting some of the wrongs that have happened in Iraq, improving healthcare conditions in the US, and getting our budget back on track (to name a few).
