Back from the Dominican. I'm sunburned, despite having 5 straight days of cloudy, rainy weather.
While down there, I managed to pick up a nice gold and amber bracelet for Alyssa. A nice little gift for the next time I see her...
I don't know when that will be though. She went back to her ex. I don't know what to say. I still love her, and while I would do anything to be with her, I want to see her happy. Right now, i'm pretty much just crushed and heartbroken all over again. I'm not angry, but I am upset. And you'd better believe i'm hurt.
So much for the newfound confidence and joy i'd felt.
EDIT: Well, minor updates here, we're gonna talk about things a little more in a few days. I had a brief conversation again with her friend Laura. Apparently things are already not looking good for Alyssa and the ex. Not to mention the fact that the ex is a huge douche and Laura wants Alyssa away from him. Other things that made me feel better about the situation:
1) Laura would love to see Alyssa with someone like me. ("you're sooooo sweet, she's going to love it!" in regards to the bracelet) and is going to build me up a bit more to her. I'm sure it was just one of those little "saying it to be nice" jokes, but still. It helped.
2) Alyssa talks about me a lot
3) Laura has already gotten tired of the new wave of Alyssa's "i'm so sick of his shit"/"i'm done with him for good" texts regarding the ex.
Needless to say, i'm going to ride this one out and hope for the best. I never thought that talking to someone could take my pain away so fast, but i'll be damned if it didn't help how I was feeling.
So give me a couple days to get myself sorted and gathered, let her do the same and we'll have a good discussion on everything. I'll post the results here. The speed at which they get posted will likely be affected by the outcome.
Also a quick question; Alyssa doesn't know about the bracelet, as I wanted it to be a surprise (still do) So i'm wondering if it would be better to not mention anything and just surprise her with it the next time we see each other, or if it would potentially win me some favor with her by saying "By the way, I got something for you"?
