Finished reading "Quicksilver" (Neal Stephenson, 2003). Still don't really know what it is about. That is, I know what it said, but it didn't seem to add up to anything. His other books have at least a semblance of a plot with a beginning, a middle, and an end (even though, with some, you might have to read 300 pages before seeing where it's going). This one doesn't, as far as I can tell. Perhaps it's because it's the first of a series, so instead of having to read 300 pages to figure out what's going on, you have to read the first book and a half, or something.
Having said which, it's still worth reading, as long as you're not too "goal-oriented".
