Okay, if getting rear-ended on Monday wasn't enough badness for the week, yesterday I had to go to the emergency clinic from work because I got a chemical burn on my leg. It's not just on my leg though....It's on my upper thigh, right under my butt. I can't see it very well, only part of it so my best friend at work had to come in the break room and see why my leg was burning. Then she had to put stuff out of the first aid kit on it.
That's not the end of my embarassment though. The other manager there at the time had to come into the office to call the human resources number so it would be paid for by the store when i went over to the clinic. While she was doing this I was sideways in a chair with my pantleg pulled all the way up to my bum and some sort of cream on my blistering skin. A few minutes later the other manager that was coming in for the mid-shift walked in and screamed "oh my god! what is that?!" At least it got my my claim number faster.
My friend drove me all the way to the clinic where I was forced to wait for an hour and a half before they would see me even though there was only two other people there. I went back, was forced to strip down to my undies and put on a little paper gown due to the location of my injury and then they told me that they couldn't see what was wrong with it. There are four burns on my leg that were red, then turned purple, and are now sort of brownish and they couldn't see anything. I stomped out and went home for the day, struggling to save myself a little bit of dignity by not returning to work.
The store manager said I can go to another doctor if I need to and they will pay for it since the burns are still very visible and painful, but I would just like to pretend that I did not have a horrible and embarassing experience with a chemical burned ass.
