I just watched The X-Files, season 1 episode 4......it takes place in my city. Kinda.
I didn't know that, but it was really weird because I recognize places, buildings, streets, houses, and names of real people.......but some of it was clearly shot in California.
There is a lake okoboji, but not a national park......and that wasn't it. The real okoboji is in my opinion a shit-hole. But it is where people with a little money go to fuck off......but not enough money to go somewhere better.
I should really check to see where they are filming the Children of the Corn remake.....the original was near here. Last year they filmed the movie Carny close by......in Kearney Nebraska, and Homer Nebraska. It rates about a 3.....
I guess they just shot another horror movie south of the city.....I forget the name.
Last time I was in Homer it was a pretty good story.....I stopped at a red light and asked a guy standing there for directions. He stumbled over and before I realized what was going on, he got in my car. He was big......Very big guy. He was so drunk he could hardly talk, and so I wasn't worried......if he started shit I figured I could just get out of the car and walk away.......he was to drunk to come after me.
I asked directions, and he said what I thought was 'I show you where, you take me home..........'
I thought alright, He needs a ride home.....and clearly cant walk. except he meant 'Homer' not home.
So I took him to the Indian bar in homer, but avoided an invite in for a drink.....white guys get stabbed there.
Then I happened to pick up a Winnebago Tribal newspaper.......He was in there in a photo.....member of the tribal gov't.

sounds like a story from a book. If a fat, drunk woman would plop into my car without an invitation I would probably get a bit angry.
