I am taking an extra day off, because it is the slow season at work and I can......
This is also the time of year where we have to come up with new and exciting ways to keep ourselves occupied at work, which means the occasional suicidal mission/life threatening situation......
Last nights adventure was deemed a 'Glacier Safari ! '
It consisted of me and a friend going about 120 feet ( 40 meters) up the tierring at work, and then climbing out on a very narrow beam to try and knock down an ice formation the size of a volkswagen......we were tied off with safety harnesses, so if one of us fell we probably wouldn't have actually died.....but it would still suck to be hanging that far up in the cold.
We couldn't get enough leverage to knock it loose, and decided to try anything further would be suicidal.
I knew that my company had talked about hiring an outside firm to come do it, but after we were up there my superviser admitted to me that the 'proffesionals' had actually come in to remove that ice, but after seeing where it was they said fuck that, it is too dangerous! and left.....
My only real accomplishment for the week is this....
Made for the german girl......
She just decided to finish her studies in Turkey, and so there is now the possibility that I will be visiting her in Turkey next year.......I really have nothing more to say about it......sometimes life is just too complicated.
I ordered that book, Little Sins, by Shamya Otep. I hope it is as good as I'm expecting it to be.
Other things done.....I cleaned my gutters, and decided that I will have to shingle my roof next year.....
I trimmed everything in my yard, mowwed, got rid of leaves, washed the car, bought a fuel pump for my truck so I can fix it tommorrow, grilled burgers and brats'......
I think I'll leave it at this......
p.s. Check out Oui using the Hula Hoop..... perhaps it's odd of me, but I have never seen anything like that and think it's pretty cool.
