Damn, I deleted another post....
That is how my mood changes, I guess.
I just got done prepareing 8 staves to become bows......One of my hobbies since I was about 6 years old. Makeing and hunting with primative wooden archery equipment.
After my trip I was very disapointed....I got to see native american artifacts mis-labeled all over the place. In Wakpamni, on the pine ridge reservation there were mohave style bows being passed of as traditional horse bows....not even close.
In cody there were 2 bows labeled wrong at the buffalo bill museum.
And at the northern plains exhibit at Crazy Horse monument there was a linen backed, D-belly, yew bow that was old for certain......but I would bet a $100 bill was made in England and came over on a ship.
It's no wonder that history has so many misgiveings. Tens of thousands of people view these displays every year, and will forever have a wrong impression of these things.
PEOPLE ARE STUPID!
I also got to visit a Berlin Wall monument in Rapid City South Dakota......A reminder for everybody that our freedom should not be taken for granted.
