wow. what a weird day. what a weird life!
went out last night with sgnj- or rather, minimalism, stiles, derceto, and strumpet's very lonely bee... who proceeded to down 2 glasses of scotch, run for the bathroom, and needed to be propped up all the way home.
happy birthday minimalism! guess we know now who the cool kids are.
this may seem like a strange combination of people to the outsider, as bee is not only disinterested in sg, but he really hates the club sgnj usually goes to. (yeah, it's corny, i still love it.) but he and i have been trying to become better friends- it's weird to call someone one of yr best friends when you hardly know them- so we're trying to get to know each other better, and do more things together. i went to one of his weekly jam sessions with his band a few weeks ago, so it was my turn to show him a "good time". i've been suffering constant teasing from gonzo for it- he keeps calling bee my boyfriend. because he, apparently, is the only one allowed to have friends of the opposite sex, and if i'm friends with a guy, i MUST be having lots of sex with them.
NOT SO MUCH!
so after feeding bee water and bread and making sure that he was laying on his side and was still breathing, i got home around 3 am. strumpet, you need to get yr butt home now before somebody completely self-destructs.
i'm not too good with the pukers. and i miss you, damnit.
this morning, i got up and got on the train at 8 am- bleeeuch! how the fuck do people survive without sleep??? it's pure madness!
i worked overtime until noon at my regular job. got on the subway and arrived at my new wardrobe job at 1230. trained there until 330. said "fuck all" and took a 20 minute bagel break, went BACK to my regular job until 6. then got BACK on the subway and worked wardrobe until about 930. i met dule hill- he's the lead in this show, the dutchman. you may recognize him from such shows as the west wing, and psych. he's really nice! and i also sort of met amiri baraka, who's a famous playwright. i don't meet many famous people, but luckily i've been brought up in such a way that i don't flip out and start shrieking when i do. i'm thankful for that.
so 2 celebrities, 3 cups of coffee, and 4 subway rides later, i was waiting for my train home- listening to my ipod, reading a book, feeling like a dog.
and this scruffy looking guy walks up to me and smiles.
and i realize, it's this guy i dated when i was all of 19! he was, i think, 16 at the time- a skinny, lipstick wearing, black velvet skirt stealing little goth boi. of course now that he has a beard, and dirt under his fingernails, and work boots on, it took me a minute to recognize him. but it was him, and it was really good to see him. we had some good times together- like my first acid trip, and seeing VAST in concert, and staying up all night all summer long. but it was also really strange, as we haven't spoken in like, 3 years. it was like meeting him for the first time all over again. another holy shit moment. i like those.
now i'm home. i'm beat. and i'm looking at 12 hour work days for the next 3 weeks. bleh.
i'm using the money from this job, as well as my tax return, to pay off the majority of my credit card debt.
then, i'm going to start my half sleeve. i've got it all planned out in my head, and i met an artist at the convention last week that i think i want to do it. it's 2007, it's time. i don't want to be completely covered in tattoos- i wanted a few specific things, and i'm just about done getting what i want. so once i get this half sleeve, i've got a loose idea for the rest of my back, and then that's it. no more tattoos beyond touchups. wonder what the hell i'll do with my body after that...grow dreads again perhaps??? *grin*
so yeah. i will be getting home at 10, 1030 ish for the next 3 weeks.
don't expect to hear from me unless it's important.
i'll miss you guys tho. i'll keep you posted.
till then kiddies...xoxoxo
