wow. sometimes i forget that the rest of the world doesn't share the same beliefs as i do. someone on my friends list here posted a blog expressing his disappointment at the democrats victory...it made me so furious i defriended him! no offense dude, you seemed cool otherwise, but i feel pretty passionately about my political views and was offended by your comments. so rather than pick a fight, i'm just wandering over that way.
speaking of which, i guess i should mention some things about me... in case it offends any of you.
i'm a raging liberal. yes, i believe the conspiracy theories about 9/11 being an inside job. i think it was all an elaborate plan to go to war with iraq, and i think it's a shame what we're doing to the iraqi and afghani people. i think bush should've been impeached a long time ago, and i'm very happy indeed that rumsfeld is resigning. cheney and rice can kiss my ass too, while were at it. and that's having a handful of friends serving in the military right now, and being the daughter of a 9/11 victim.
i'm also a pro-choice, flag waving feminist, and i think that gays should have the right to be as miserably married as everyone else is. i can't really help this, my mother was a NOW chapter president during my most impressionable years,but i'm glad i was exposed to it. i have no patience for homophobia. i think what people do in their own homes is their business, and for the record, you can't catch the gay. get over it. i also don't understand the religious extremists who think it's okay to kill abortion doctors in order to save the lives of the unborn. (usually they're the same folks who don't give two shits about social programs and government assistance that would help these fetuses once they're born!) not like there aren't enough women in this country pumping out kids as fast as they can. we don't have room as it is! if some 18 year old girl has a condom mishap she has the fucking right to deal with it, that's her business.
i was raised both christian and jewish, and although i'm technically jewish and was a practicing pagan for several years, i don't subscribe to any particular religion. i think all religions have the right idea at their core, but the stupidity that has ensued for thousands of years over the details in each religion makes me sick. i can be a good person and live a good life without some invisible dude sitting on a gold throne in the clouds telling me to. i also believe in reincarnation, and i don't believe that there's a hell.
i'm all for stem cell research- i don't think scientists are going to start building a clone army a la star wars.
and i think this country (sorry, i meant to say PLANET) seriously needs to start making more serious efforts to protect the environment, big business interests be damned! money is great and all, but what good is it if we're not going to survive to use it?
just about the only issue i'm not completely left of center on is immigration. i think people should try to come to this country legally, but if they came illegally and have been a contributing member of society, why deport them? and don't give me this horseshit about taking away jobs from "real" americans- most real americans don't want to scrub office toilets or peel potatoes in a kitchen for 16 hours straight for $3 an hour. and this border fence is a load of crap, it's not going to stop anyone resourceful enough. but at the same time, we're not responsible for employing the entire world, especially with so many people that are here already being ridiculously poor and jobless.

saw mary poppins the musical last night for free. it was cute. if you go see it, i built some of the statue costumes in the "jolly holiday" sequence. oh, and mary poppins is a magnificent cunt! (quoting inside man, what a great movie.)
britney spears is getting a divorce- finally. boy is she stupid.
