Hey All You Jyve Turkeys...
... I recently got into a discussion about all the crap movies that have been coming out by crapy writers and even shittier actors. The conversation ended up with only three movies looking to hold 2005 together. I figured I would share my choices with you.
... First off the follow up to House of 1000 Corpses, "The Devils Rejects". I was (like most of you) ready for more the moment the first movie ended. I do believe Mr. Zombie just may get the NC-17 rating and release this time. You can check it out in theaters August 2005. Such a long wait .. but a shorter wait than 1000corpses. Check out the web site for more.
... Second, another gruesome, bloody, gory and twisted tale of horror from Lions Gate, "High Tension". I have been lucky enough to have already seen this movie before it's French to English dubbing. All I can say without spoiling it is, "Holy Fucking Crap!" Such a sick flick for horror fans. It's going to be hard to shop it in the US with an NC-17 rating .. but who the hell cares. Check out the web site for more.
And this years hottest movie yet, "Sin City!"
I shall let the pictures and website scraps do the talking for this one. I can't wait to see this hit the screen. I'm not a big fan of the movies on opening night ... but believe me I will be there for this one.
Robert Rodriguez ("Spy Kids," "Once Upon a Time in Mexico") Quentin Tarantino, and comic book icon Frank Miller co-direct "Sin City," based on the series of graphic novels created, written, and illustrated by Miller. "Sin City" is infested with criminals, crooked cops and sexy dames, some searching for vengeance, some for redemption and others, both. The film incorporates storylines from three of Miller's graphic novels including 'Sin City,' which launched the long-running, critically acclaimed series, as well as 'That Yellow Bastard' and 'The Big Fat Kill.'
Rodriguez, along with Miller & Tarantino, translated these legendary stories from page to screen by remaining absolutely faithful to the look, feel and dialogue of the books.
"Sin City" stars Bruce Willis as Hartigan, a cop with a bum ticker and a vow to protect stripper Nancy (Jessica Alba); Mickey Rourke as Marv, the outcast misanthrope on a mission to avenge the death of his one true love, Goldie (Jaime King), and Clive Owen as Dwight, the clandestine love of Shelley (Brittany Murphy), who spends his nights defending Gail (Rosario Dawson) and her Old Towne girls (Devon Aoki and Alexis Bledel) from Jackie Boy (Benicio Del Toro), a dirty cop with a penchant for violence.
Cast: Josh Hartnett as The Employee, Marley Shelton as The Customer, Carla Gugino as Lucille, Bruce Willis as Hartigan, Mickey Rourke as Marv, Jaime King as Goldie, Brittany Murphy as Shellie, Elijah Wood as Kevin, Maria Bello as Ava Lord, Benicio Del Toro as Jack Rafferty, Jessica Alba as Nancy Callahan, Nick Stahl as Junior/Yellow Bastard, Rick Gomez as Mr. Shlubb, Clive Owen as Dwight, Rosario Dawson as Gail, Michael Madsen as Bob, Alexis Bledel as Becky, Michael Clarke Duncan as Manute, Rutger Hauer as Cardinal Roark, Devon Aoki, Michael Douglas, Christopher Walken, Jason Douglas, Makenzie Vega, Katherine Willis
The Make-up in this movie looks incredible. Down to Nick Stahl (Carnivale) as the Yellow Bastard and Benicio Del Toro. I'm a big fan of visuals as well as scenery colors, so I can't wait to see how this movie comes out in B&W with the small hints of color.
