Time for my lazy ass to update. Well I just finished one paper, one more to go. I did my paper on the Fall of the Bastille a little drunk after going to a bar with my roomies Katie and Dan, and Katies friends. I ended up spitting ice on Katie's friend Helena and we joked around all night, it was fun. Then me and Dan went to Earwax, which is tragically located on the south side now, and I got me a new Gorgoroth t shirt, they didnt have any Mayhem or Satyricon. Oh yeah, the random girl from the Morbid Angel show called me last wednsday, she wanted to know if I could hang out with her, I'm not sure if I'll go, she seems to want a relationship.
1) This question is dedicated to the very anti emo (which wins points here) cupidsvictim. Rant a little about a trend or trends that should disappear.
2) What scene(s) least fit your personality?
3) What bands should just give up?
my answers
1) Christanity as a trend. Any one who weares a "Jesus is my Homeboy" or "Mary is my homegirl" should be fucking shot. Plus they sell teeney boper belts with bible verses. A black metal scene in the states is very much needed, as long as facism isn't dedicated (ie the state is god, not self worship).
2) Emo, I'm not depressed, I don't want or wine about wanting a gf, hell I'm just too pissed, and yet having too good a time as it is, besides I'm too dark and morbid mother fucker and I dont like wearing tigh jeans and I think bands like Dashboard Confessionals are shit, and I dont do star tattoos, only inverted pentagrams here LOL. Oh yeah I wouldent be a good hip hopper because I get my clothes dirty easily and dont really care, I wont wear pink, and I'm not very materialistic. And there are otehrs like Frat Boy, I'm not one to perscribe to the heard mentality, hell I could write an essay so I'll stop here.
3) Korn (I'll admit I once liked them) espechially after one of their guitar players left for the lamest of reasons, Fear Factory they've been at it too long, Slipknot (I used to like them too) they've out lived them selves, Poison whens the last time they ever wrote a new album, Limp Bizkit because Rap Metal died years ago and so should they, and I'll even admit, even though I like them, Six Feet Under should just call it quits before they become too old.

2) The fashion-core bullshit. Part of it has to do with my personal homophobia (it's not a bad thing, I just know I'm not gay). A lot of it is carbon-copy skinny suburban white kids. I hate "scenes" not having a diversity, but I admit that there's always a demographic group. But then again, being straight edge is a scene in itself, I suppose. I guess I choose to be myself and be proud of who I am no matter what, then be a poseur or a bigot elitist.
3) I'm with you on Korn, but Saliva REALLY REALLY needs to hang up the hat and go back to bouncing the dive bars in Atlanta where they came from.
2) no scene fits my personality. . . .or I'd be in one. I'd say the one that fits it the least is the fashioncore thing. That's just one big group of guys trying WAY TOO HARD to be what women want. . .I mean sure, it works, but if you're willing to sell yourself out just to get some ass, you're fucking weak.
3) I'm going to say something that isn't a given. . . . .1. ANY BAND AFFILIATED WITH 18 VISIONS AT ALL. . .
2. any band that started because they like the later At the Gates line up, or the later Carcass line up, or In Flames or Soilwork or Arch Enemy
3. Glassjaw. . . .everyone either thinks or hopes they broke up anyway
