Russian Red by M.A.C.
ever since i was a child i have been fascinated by all things russian... the language especially, but it all started with a set of matryoshka dolls... as a child my mum, my sisters and i used to go to campbelltown in the school holidays to visit my mum's friend Pat, usually for a week or two. the dolls were given to me by her youngest son Brett. his father (when he was still in their lives) brought them back for brett from a trip to russia, and Brett knew how much i loved playing with those dolls... so one day as we were about to leave to go home Brett gave those dolls to me. i still have them and it would have to be at leats 22 or 23 years since he gave them to me...
after that i forgot about my love of russian things (except for the dolls)... until my 5th grade teacher Mrs. Bryant had the class do an assignment on the U.S.S.R. during this time we were taught about how the Yuri Gagarin was the first man in space and the first to orbit the earth, what a balalaika was and a few words in russian. enter my love of the Russian language.
so after that i forgot all about it again... till i was hairdressing in a salon in Milton and one of my clients and i got talking about how she was learning a language at the Institute of Modern Language at the University of Queensland. i told her how i'd always wanted to learn russian and she suggested i find out if they taught it there. and guess what? i was in luck! and there was a course starting soon! so i did a semester of a basic russian language course. i loved doing it and found it relatively easy tho its not an easy language to learn apparently... unfortunately my roster at work changed and clashed with the advanded course times. so that was the end of that.
i'd still love to learn the language and one day i hope to be able to speak russian fluently. tho i think i'd rather learn it in a more relaxed environment. i was never good with the school thing.
so anyways... i'm wearing my new Russian Red lipstick out for the first time on Sunday nite. i'll post pics then as i have left my camera at work and my phone takes shitty pics.
smooches darlings. nn.xx
