So i was listening to Air America, which is basically just as retarded as right-wing talk radio, (but makes me less angry) and Janeane Garafalo (i don't think i've ever spelled out her name before... it looks really weird) starts going off about how the government has approved Medicare coverage of Viagra for patients, but things such as the morning-after pill and other forms of contraception are not.
How fucked up is that? Y'all probably know how i feel about overpopulation, and can assume that any imbalance in our healthcare system that results in more people fucking and less access to birth control is gonna make me wanna start defenestrating random people.
So yeah, i agree, that's fucked. But then Janeane starts saying that particular piece of legislature passed because "republicans hate women".

I have had it up to here with this country. The right and left have reduced themselves to screaming children fighting over a toy in a sandbox. First off, i'd like to point out that republicans don't hate women. Maybe a select group of them (the ones in power, specifically) are unsympathetic or apathetic to certain problems that only affect women, but if you think that's hate, then you need to ask yourself if you HATE the homeless, native americans, Gary Coleman, etc.
I gotta assume if you're reading this, you're probably a relatively liberal thinking human who values progress and happiness for humanity as a whole. You probably identify with "the left", and don't like our current administration. That is completely understandable. But does it help to stoop to their level and start using blatant rhetoric, unsubstantiated hyperbole and unabashed sophistry to slam and slander everyone who doesn't think like us? I listen to people that call into Air America and they sound exactly like the people that call into the O'Reilly Factor, but they spit bile at republicans, christians, and patriots instead of liberals, hippies, the french, and hollywood. Same sheep, different shepherds.
It's perfectly ok to be abgry. Or angry even, if you are better at spelling than i just was. Just make sure that when you're running your mouth about politics, like i love doing, you avoid sounding like the mirror image of your opponent. It makes me nauseous and slightly homicidal when i listen to neo-con pundits like Sean Hannity say things like "all liberals hate america", and "if you're against the war you're a terrorist", but it is because of that that i refuse to stoop to saying "all republicans are ______". The longer both sides stay in that sandbox, the more the rift grows. This country is becoming divided, and in my opinion, that is unexcusable. I think by now we should have unified the globe (as much as one can; i'm not that naive) and started thinking about populating other planets, but we can't seem to stop squabbling over stupid shit. In the grand scheme of evolution, the human race is way behind schedule.
On a completely unrelated subject, i would like to point out how odd the letter "W" is when examined in comparison to the rest of the alphabet. Say it out loud. It's 3 syllables, whereas every other letter is 1. The rest of them are simple phonetic sounds, where the W is actually self-descriptive... a double "u". What the fuck is your story, W?
