So, I didn't get layed-off from my job. But, I did quit. I was lucky enough to get a new job offer making a significant amount more per hour. I am glad I left when I did. Although I had put my name on the voluntary lay-off list, my company was not planning on letting me go. They only let 1 Lead man go, but let go almost everyone in assembly. My entire team was let go, so I am glad I was not there to see them get walked out 1 by 1. I said my goodbyes to my crew the night before, and I was able to say goodbye to mostly everyone I knew at the company. So, as of Friday March 4th, I am no longer a Lead Assembler with my company.
So, now, what am I gonna do?
Tonight I am getting on a plane, and leaving California again. I was lucky enough to stagger my last day with my old job and my first day at my new job so that I can take a short vacation with my chick. I will be in Boston for a few hours tomorrow morning. But I will just be sitting at Logan airport. Then, I am off to Vermont. I will be offline while I am there, due to roaming charges. I will be gone for a week. I'm hoping that my letters to the Pen Pal group will be received and possibly have a couple waiting for me when I get back. Also, I hope to get back online and have some messages and posts on here for once haha.
When I get back I have a couple days to get certain affairs in order, before I start my new job. I am still doing the game challenge with my friends, and am still tied for first. Being gone for a week, I will have to complete a couple extra games to catch back up. I have opened my donations on Twitch, and so far I have $4.00 donated toward helping build a stronger PC. I have 2 PC's that were given to me, I will be checking these to see what parts are useful. Even if it's only the DVD drive, it will save like $30.00. I've also got a few things I hope to start around the house when I get home.
Then, the fun begins. I start my new job as a Micro Assembler. I will be learning how to operate 2, possibly 3, machines. I am moving from building Oil Drilling Equipment to building Micro-chips. I am working in a clean room, and I have to learn everything quick. This is a whole new journey, I feel like it's my first job all over again. I am going to try and make this opportunity turn into the life change that I need. I needed something to get my life looking up, and this just might be it.
