I work in an industry where a 40 hour work week is looked down upon. people at my office who *only* work 40 hours a week are considered lazy, absent, and just in general not good at their jobs. I was working 50 hours a week for a couple months and then I felt like I just might start killing people so I started taking half days on wednesdays and now I don't work a whole lot more 40 hours a week. it took me a while to not care that people think I'm lazy, but yeah. that's where i am.
last week Monday, I got called in early because the other girl who does my same job called in sick. then I got called in early on tuesday. and wednesday. wednesday, which was supposed to be my half day, ended up being 10 hours. our phones and computers were down, which are kind of essential to sending and receiving faxes and pulling credit bureaus. you might think that would make my day easier, but no! no no
the other girl came back today. I think she had tuberculosis given the way she sounded. I'm glad she's feeling better, but it seemed like she was more interested in getting caught up on the office gossip than her work. granted, I did a pretty good job keeping on top of things...
(sigh)
so yeah it's nice to get 12 hours of overtime in a week, but I am not married to this job.
it's month end now, which is always busy. I don't know that I will get to take my half day tomorrow.
tired. tired. tired.

i'm not suprised you're tired hun...i think you work bloody hard at what you do, and regardless of how many hours you put in, i don't think there's any way in hell that anybody would even consider calling you lazy
