so, y'all like her? she'll be pleased
so I'm listening to Acid Mothers Temple. They're a noise band from Nagoya, in the tradition of Zappa but with more of the atmospheric weirdness that blasting guitars can provide, a bit like bardo pond and a bunch of other bands, but still cooler. Anyway, just noticing how my perceptions of this song are so affected by the fact that it was recorded on 9/10/01. Can't help but here the next day in it.
Funny story about that actually. I saw the second tower come down right after f & I finished watching *Black Rain.* You know, Michael Douglas in Osaka with the yakuza. To go from that to the burning image of those towers to edifice and greed going down with thousands of souls and countless more illusions. How silent my Nova branch was the next day.
Then, coming back on the flight I'd previously booked on Sept. 25 to be in time for my sister's birthday. It was positively empty, and the flight attendants were as relaxed as I've ever seen them.
I've missed out on the whole Bush presidency, having departed on Nov. 18, just as the whole debacle was playing itself out. Yes, I had to answer the question of what exactly was going on in Florida far too many times.
Since then, I feel like I've been seeing the US much as the rest of the world sees it. I made the fundemental mistake of believing the base worldview of the newspapers which, as I only got online every few weeks for about two years, can easily happen even with a healthy amount of skepticism. I got OD'd far too much on Ameria's Soft Power, as well as by the domestic, US-servile press here. Yeah I never believed any of the hype to pump the national corporate security apparatus, but I did forget one thing.
How many of us there are. People who are into talking about a wide range of topics intelligently and fuck around just as well, people not afraid of being.
Anyway, I'll cut the rant now. Cheers for getting this far. btw the typhoon, as I said, wasn't so bad here. My apartment swayed a bit, but it's comforting to know it's designed for earthquakes. Kyushu got whacked though.

Dude, I would so come down your way if I had any idea how long it took to get there.. and how much time I will really have to travel out of the 11 days I'll be in Japan.
I'm still trying to figure out my plans.. (long story short)
meeting with Tohokushinsha Film Corporation, Twice.(my fault for asking to visit a client). Once the day after I arrive, then again 4 days later. I don't mean to complain because I'm so excited to visit Japan, but it's cutting right into the middle of my trip. It's still gonna be a dream come true.
