I can't believe I am about to admit to seeking out a musician based on a Target commercial. Yet I hereby confess to buying the new Jamie Lidell cd, Multiply after hearing that track "A Little Bit More" on the television. The rest of the disc is in truth much better than that song. Who knew Lidell could be so funky. The guy at Reckless...

Mandatory food entry: roasted butternut squash in a tomato cream garam masala sauce over millet.
So last night I played what's in the pantry and came up with a dish that seems fairly tasty. I roasted two butternut squash for an hour. I had sprinkled them with cinnamon and brown sugar. Then I prepared a sauce by first sauteeing garlic in butter and oil, then...

So it seems like all my entries are about food. Tonight I made arugula pesto over penne and a squash soup.
For the soup I started by sauteing shallots and garlic and fresh ginger in butter and olive oil. Then I added a chopped pear and some cinnamon. Then I put in delicata and buttercup squash and cooked that down some. Until I finally finished it off by simmering the mixture in a vegetable broth for about half an hour. Lastly I pureed it the lot and had a delicious and tasty soup. Oh yeah there was also a couple dashes of nutmeg and a sprinkling of brown sugar. Yum
