Benedict Superstar...


This friday, the Pope Benedict XVI will come to my city, Leon Guanajuato, Mexico, and he'll spend the night in a private school located only 5 minutes from my house.

I really don't know the magnitude of this event, if it will be thousands of persons here, or only few persons, anyway, for me, that have (work) a convenience store, I expect excellent sales for this weekend.

In the spiritual meaning of this visit, I want to say that I was raised chatolic and somehow I believe in God, and I know the church have done several mistakes in the beginning of his existence and in the middle-age, but recently some congregations are doing a good job (I know a lot of people, specially young people who was helped by them about drug problems and now they have a family, good job, etc)

Anyway, I don't know what do you think about it, but I just wanted to say this.
Finally, I called this blog Benedict Superstar because you know very well, the tv, the radio and the printing press love to do this kind of events really magnificent events, all day long in the tv, all their programs from the places where the pope will be, special reports, etc etc etc, during all the year, they defend the laicisim, and in this kind of events, they broke their laicisism... And of course many people only going to see the pope as a "star" and not as a spiritual guide, they don't see the spiritual meaning of this visit.
