God-fucking-DAMMIT. I'm about to be in big trouble, and all because I ranted LJ-style and, as feminist rants tend to do, it enticed idiots into posting their two cents. I am fine with that, I can handle Teh Stupids, but what I CAN'T do is stop commenters from talking to OTHER commenters. So now my entry is a seething pit of mutual dislike and if it goes any farther I'll have to delete it, which will probably make people mad in and of itself.

Dammit, I wish I could say it was just trolling or something, but no, it actually WAS one friend saying something foolish and borderline racist, and another friend jumping on her for it. I'd even like to say it wasn't a deserved jumping-on, but it so was. I want to tell the first person "Yes, you said something completely dumb and asinine, and when Person Two tried to get you to see your mistake, you responded in the worst possible way". But I can't say that because she'll fucking cry or, more likely, cry and then write a mean rant about me for being so cruel to her.

I make it sound like my life is Teh Drama, but it's really not. I've avoided this kind of stuff for YEARS, but I guess eventually Internet Drama catches up to you, no matter how hard you try to be, you know, neutral and polite and rational.

I can see I'm not getting any sleep for a THIRD night in a row.
