Its not enough that Zen doesn't even do the reading for the 2 classes that she has, that I happen to know are insanely low maintenance and easy if you just do the damn reading because I have those same classes, she actually actively inhibits me from doing the reading.
I have focus issues. Call it A.D.D., whatever. I have a very hard time reading and comprehending long, difficult works. For one thing, I have to focus like hell and often reread things slowly sentence by sentence to grasp it. For another, it has to be relatively quiet. Not like, hear-a-pin-drop silent. I just can't hear words, it gets into my head and mingles with whatever it is I'm trying to comprehend on the page. I didn't say anything when she was watching a movie earlier a lot louder than it needed to be, because even though I could hear every action scene in detail, the dialogue was muted enough that I couldn't pick out individual words. So fine, whatever, I can work through it. But when she started listening to her music in the bedroom next to mine with the door open, I asked her to close the door. Then I could still hear everything just as clearly through our shared wall as if it was playing in my bedroom, so I asked her to turn it down. She complied bitterly. I asked her to turn it down just a little more later, and she she got frustrated and turned it up while I stood in her doorway. I explained to her slowly and calmly exactly why I needed it turned down, and she replied with something about how if it was too quiet, she could hear herself singing along to it, which she didn't want. I asked her to put on headphones, which she said she couldn't do as she didn't have headphones. I offered her two different pairs of mine, but she doesn't want to wear -my- headphones.
Fucking useless, petulant bitch child. I'll let her figure out on her own that the chapters she's putting off reading until the last minute are about 50 pages each. Have fun with that one, dumbass.

Thats so fucking shit. It's up to her if she doesn't want to do her work but its pretty shitty to stop you from doing yours? Can you listen to some music through your headphones quietly or will that distract you?
