I should have went and had a drink at the pub tonight.
Anyways, I think I have decided what I am going to do with my backyard. I think a 8' wide 3' deep koi pond, with a small stream and waterfall with grass everywhere else.
I am not sure about winters so I need to do a bit more research on that before I start building a pond for some little koi fishies. I am sure it will work out but I figure on doing it like this diagram...

I know that my soon to be ex-inlaws have a similar, but smaller koi pond and waterfall in their yard and they have a couple of floating heaters during the winter. I am currently in Indiana, so they would have to work out there in UT!
