I changed my name and probably will again soon.... oh welll
So today, I was working and I started thinking about my love of music. I love so many kinds. Yet I have a problem, which I am sure you can relate to. I HATE today's Music!!!! From Fall Out Boy, to Lady GaGa, I can't stand it! Katy Perry, The Pussycat Dolls, etc. Just a few I can name. Yes , there are some really dynamic acts out there that are great, but everything is so instantaneous nowadays that there is no thought seemingly put into any notes of music.
The record companies pick a band, pick a hot singer, and then POOF, You got a $$$Money$$$ Machine! You ever notice that back in the 70's the singers were pretty damn, ugly? They were really talented , just grotesque. There are a few in there today (Amy Winehouse, Adele, Duffy, et.al). But I guess where the money is seems to be looks, and sexy clothes. I ramble... stoned.... hehe...
Katy Perry especially irks me! She gives a bad name to REAL bisexual women. The "former" Chrisitan artist is the biggest phony of them all. She isn't talented, and she isn't bisexual. She is a Fabrication, more like a cartoon of what her record company sees as the way to ride the wave of the 1940's fashion trend we are seeing. I mean Pin-up/ Rockabilly style is HOT right now, and she certainly tries to play the part...at least Amy Winehouse and her crackhive hair have more talent .
I want more passion! More fervor from my music! SAY Something!!! I like my songs to have a good rhythm, not having all of the guitars distorted into a homicidal cacophony! That is why I love Tool, and Bush, and Live, and Disturbed. You get a feel for every instrument, Every voice, Ever nuance. My brain rides it like a giddy wave. When I hear Maynard's voice, it sends shivers down my spine, Every time. I have heard it thousands of times but it still resonates. The drum beats are outstanding, and over all you KNOW that IS talent!!!
I sing, I would try to make music, but I give up too easily and I am trying hard to learn guitar and get that back. I would love to make sense of music! Its not a self-esteem thing, its more that I need lessons to get my voice back into shape... I have a low alto voice and I can't go up very high without cracking. I can do Melissa Ethridge well, and Alana Miles, Tracy Chapman, all of their songs.
Anyway, I love music I am sure you can tell, And if you actually did read all of this thanx.
