It turns out I'm not too bad with a Mig Welder considering I have had no classes and was given a 5 minute lesseon and then told to "have at it, but don't fuck it up" (I was welding on a customers truck). Well, not too bad when I can see the seam. When I can't see the seam...I go all over the damn place.
I'm wondering if my stigmatism is interfereing with my ability to see the seam (aside from the fact I'm wearing a dark ass welding mask).
Practice, Practice, Practice.
I think I'm gonna change my picture, to the one where I have a blanket on my head. It was cold as hell, and I was sick. So I stuck it over my head and the chick I was yapping with via a webcam just lost it and about killed herself falling out of her chair. So I took a picture...
Being broke sucks, I havn't been able to go fishing in like a month because I can't afford the gas the take the boat up there, let alone the cost of bait.
...btw, molten steel hurts like a bitch when it pops off what you're welding and finds a place to land on your arm.

and doood, maxims, stuff, and fhm's are a godsend over here. i actually have a subscription to maxim, but my mail gets routed through 2 military camps before i get my hands on it, thus i have yet to recieve a single issue in the mail because the POG mail clerks get to it first and just black out my name and address on the cover with a marker and keep it for themselves. so yeah, i get the bills in the mail for maxims, but no actual maxims.
so.....of course you are by no means obligated to send anything my way, but if you should feel the need to, it would be very awesome of you. maxims and copenhagen long-cut are the only 2 things on this marines christmas list this year.
and word, i feel your pain about the molten steel bit. had a similar experience about a week or two back when the guy next to me shot off a round and the brass ejected right in between my neck and flak jacket.
