Back home to CT I take it. I used to live in Greenwich, CT. I miss some of the things there, but not everything. Have fun at home. Hope to see you when you get back in town.

Living in Italy? What attracts you other there? It's nice but it's not such an "advanced" country--their mentality is kind of old fashionned. As for Germany, it's probably the only country where I'm quite sure I won't go back. I'm sure that during your eurotrip, you will notice the abrupt contrasts between all these countries (France ain't perfect either.)

I was looking at your fave artists. Who's Chuck Close?

As for my most humbling moment, I can't answer that on a journal entry that can be seen by everybody blackeyed maybe by e-mail.

So, another yacht club staff party tonight... i'm not even particularly sure I want to go, as i dont feel like sleeping there (its 40 min away on the highway...) only to wake up at 7 am groggy and reeking of liquor to teach summer camp. Yet i feel as if i'd insult everyone (including my boss) if i didnt . mmmmmm...

decisons, decisions.

Bonjour,

And now my favorite holiday of the year has passed.... the fireworks display was good, but it could have been better. My favorites are the ones that look like golden chandeliers. fantastic company though, i couldn't have asked for a better date. tongue
I dont really have much else to write about at the moment... just enjoying the sunshine on the deck anyhow. I think...

Salut,

Hope your foot is OK. The European trip you are planning sounds like a lot of fun. I actually haven't been to Copenhagen and Prague is the other Euro-capital I wanna visit. Growing up a little French boy, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to stay for a while in most Western European countries. My parents thought that was a good idea to "ship" me aborad to live with families and learn languages--and I ended up loving it and travel with friends. So I've stayed in England, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Sweden -- as well as Vatican & Monaco smile My favorite city? that's tough; I love Marseille, my hometown (France's 2nd biggest city) but I consider myself a citizen of the world. I love Paris, but it's more fun to visit than actually live there.

Yep, I'd like to see Charleston and all those nice old Southern cities. I also wanna go to Boston (+NY, New Orleans, Miami); I haven't been on the East coast yet.

That's cool you speak different languages (I used to speak German and old Latin but dropped them--I understand partly Italian and Spanish). Do you know where you would like to live? What are you studing by the way?

Just arrived home from a fanfuckingtastic weekend.... Went to see farenheit 9/11 on friday to start off with, which I was pleasantly suprised by. I've always thought Michael Moore has good things to say, and he's an intelligent guy...but, at least from reading his books, I've noticed he often presents an invariably biased view. This movie seemed to be based off of "Dude, wheres my...

You took some really cool pictures at Coachella; If CT does stand for Connecticut (I'm not that great at US geography) did you come all the way to California just for Coachella?

I also wanted to Lollapalooza but it got cancelled; I saw Pixies 10 years ago and I thought they were a bit dry on stage, lacking charisma..but I've only been hearing good feedback about their last shows.

Have you heard about indie 103.1 the new radio we have in LA? it's really the coolest thing. You can also stream it online.

About Moore, he's pretty popular here, in LA & San Fran mostly. California is pretty liberal so he has a lot followers. He cracks me up but he also so manipulative--he knew all laong Disney wouldn't distribute his film but waited for the right time to transform this issue into a PR campaign. I actually helped to promote Bowling in the US for a year before its release when it was still taboo and nobody wanted to talk about it.

So is it hard to grow up in a little town for somebody like you who has an edgier taste in music, etc..

Looks like you had a cool trip. I've never been to CT or SC yet--I actually haven't been on the East Coast yet frown

I came here to study a few years ago and ended up winning a green card at the lottery. So I got a job here and ended up staying. I like it here--weather and lifestyle are similar to South of France. I actually live not far from Laguna, but I spend a lot of time in LA.

I agree it's a freak show, full of posers and fake people and not a touristic city at all. But once you start discovering all these cool pockets it becomes interesting. I actually like the mix of ethnies and the creative vibe--there are so many creative people here. Plus it's one the rare towns where you can actually have the chance to reach your goals--if they're not too unrealistic. I came here without knowing anybody--and being French isn't really an advantage either--and I have now access to a lot of cool things in the film & music industry.

Have you traveled outside the US? Is there any foreign culture or country you are attracted to?

So, today, I found out Lollapalooza is cancelled. Aaare you fuckin kidding me? So bummed. I've always been a loyal pixies fan, but ever since I saw them at Coachella, DIZAMN! It was love at first fiery guitar rif. And i was pretty psyched to see Flaming Lips again too.... now what shall i do? ...fuck fuck fuck. Going to go be responsible and do...
