Hey everyone! I hope 2021 is at least slightly better than 2020 for all of you! Whether you have a “Valentine” or not here are some good ways to show some love this February!
But first, I highly recommend learning what your Love Language is! You can take this 5 Love Languages test to find out! There is a way you RECEIVE love and a way you GIVE love, each may be totally different. Finding out my love language really has helped me in my relationships, both romantic and otherwise to not only understand what I need to feel loved but also how I can make others feel loved whose love language may not be the same as mine!
❤️ Send someone a hand written card or letter. You can make or buy a card and it can be as simple as “I’m thinking about you” or “I love you”. Taking the time to actually write out a card or note takes just a little extra time and thought and it’s always nice to have mail to open and a physical reminder of someone’s love for you.
♥️ On the other hand sending an email or text or DM to someone just letting them know how they may have positively impacted your life is also a very kind way to express some love and gratitude.
❤️ Tipping or subscribing. This doesn’t JUST go for models or content creators here but any artist or person with a small business. The last year has been ROUGH for all of us, BUT, if you have $5 to share- leave your favorite model a tip, subscribe to someone’s OnlyFans or buy a piece of jewelry or artwork (for yourself or to gift to someone!)
♥️ Buy a live plant as a gift. Plants, flowers a whole damn tree- whatever it is you’d like, but a live plant in a pot so the person you’re giving it to can have something to remind them of you for more than just a week or two (here’s to hoping they will remember to water it!)
❤️ Donate... to a local charity or one that is close to your heart. This doesn’t just mean money. If you have money to donate, by all means, please do, even $1-5 is helpful for any charity, but, you could also donate your time, clothing, food, household items, etc. This will keep these material possessions from going into the landfill but will also majorly help some charities and people in need.
♥️ Cook a meal for someone or even order them take out! I know for me personally, food is the way to my heart so a home cooked meal is always very special and appreciated but during these times it’s also important we continue to support our local communities and that includes restaurants, so ordering out if you can is a great idea!
❤️ Make someone a personalized video. This is one of my personal favorites. On my anniversary with my partner I always make them a video (usually silly) of me singing them a song. You could really do whatever you’d like in your video and whatever you think that person would like, a simple hello and you mean so much to me can go a long way. (Don’t do anything creepy or xxx without consent!)
♥️ Make a coupon book! This is always a popular one around holidays but coupon books can be a lot of fun! Even if it’s just for a friend. It can be anything from buying them dinner/coffee to listening to their favorite music in the car instead of yours, etc. etc.
These are just some fun/thoughtful ways I plan on giving love this Valentine’s Day but in all honesty these are ways I like to give back whenever I can. This year has been tough and many of us are struggling to feel supported and loved, so just remember to be kind and compassionate every day. I love you all and I’m grateful for you!
With love, Zen 💝
