H came up this weekend for an evening. we went and watched "House of Flying Daggers." i very much enjoyed it. but that was expected. Zhang Yimou is one of my favorite directors. thus far i have seen : House of Flying Daggers, Hero, Not One Less, and Raise the Red Lantern (my favorite of all).
we were two of 15 people in the theater. which is the way it should always be. i abhor having to sit near people at the movies. hate. hatehatehate. because people always talk. or eat with their mouths open. or breath in my ear with a sinus-y, nasal-y sound. and then i have to turn around and kill them.
it is messy.
so a small crowd it the best.
AND i LOVE movie popcorn. i LOVE it. in fact, i would marry it and then cannibalize it if i could.

If you like Yimou, To Live and Shanghai Triad are pretty damn good movies as well.
