a-hem. i was making the rounds and hadn't gotten to your journal yet, so you beat me to it. sorry. i can't sing the praises of Indian food enough, and to think i almost gave up the whole genre because the first time i had it, there was a hair in my pakura! what i would have missed!

life in the flatlands is about how it sounds. but i've rearranged priorities, and i think it's making a difference. more or less straight-edge now, no longer obsessed with semi-arty art house movies, a little closer to getting realigned with the magic things in an otherwise boring life. growing closer to my fiance every day. it goes well, thank you. how bout you?

oh my sister lives in london, thats the good thing, she is there now for about 2 and a half years (dont know exactly)... so i can stay at her place ... smile i can imagine that u miss ur sister and family... i also see them not very often.. maybe twice three times a year frown that can be very hard sometimes...

In re: music . . . Yeah Yeah Yeahs, that's definitely part of what I meant in my music tastes! By "grrl rock" I suppose I mean stuff like Sleater-Kinney, Le Tigre, Yeah Yeah Yeahs . . . (*thinking*) . . . Etc. I haven't gotten into PJ Harvey that much though; not sure why. I have some of her stuff but I haven't gotten that into it. I keep it around, though, because I keep feeling like I'm going to hit it one night while my playlist is on "shuffle" and it'll be just perfect, you know?

Aside from the "grrl rock" I'm a big fan of folkish type stuff: Ani DiFranco, Dar Williams, The Mountain Goats, Brenda Weiler . . . Just today discovered Haley Bonar . . .

And I have a huge soft spot for pianos, particularly the "piano girls"--hahaha--Tori Amos (at least, until this last one, *tear*), Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor . . . And Ben Folds, minus the girl part. wink

What's PJ Harvey's best album, do you think? Which one should I pay most attention to first, in other words? smile

Well, it's not that I gave up writing per se; I just don't do it as often as I used to, and not in the same forms. I still do a lot of journaling ("blogging" hasn't really happened for me past the superficial level--still seems odd).

So it looks like summer school is out. The intro to painting is closed,but more importantly the selection of art classes is miniscule. Painting is the only discipline available. I was hoping for drawing II and something else, but I guess that's what I get for going to small school.

We got married today, of all days April fools day, lol.

Our relationship is fab, we to have our moments and don't always see eye to eye but we work it out and talk everything out before we do it or make a big decision.... for amateur paragliding, you're strapped in front of a pro... but because they like to torture pgliding virgins and because you're in front, they make you decide when to run off the cliff. they do the steering in the air, but a good pro will let you try your hand at it. when landing, you have to lean forward like this:

sounds like you had a nice weekend. i don't know where mine went. hung out with some friends for St. Patty's day but nothing too wild. saw my dad who was up from Florida on saturday. worked saturday night. ran errands on sunday. yay, go team.
