Wreckers yards are cool places... no wonder so many bands do low budget clips in them! I went to a wreckers yard yesterday to get some tires for my car and some of the prangs people have are amazing! Crunched up, lots of cars written off... My brother is a bit of an expert on car parts and I asked him if he reckoned anyone had died in these wrecks, and he said "oh they just get em drycleaned before dropping them here"
I was hoping the cars wouldn't fall on me... lots of grease, car bits, tires, smashed windows, spralling on and on. I got my tires and left - now the cops can't slap a canary on my car for bald tires (canary=unroadworthy sticker!)
Current listens : I picked up a copy of WIRE's "154" CD today... I have had it on vinyl for ages and since I haven't got a record player at the place I live, and I am seeing them live soon, it would be good. Lot's o' post punk spikyness and some excellent tunes... it is an awesome disc. The use of sounscapes and synths is excellent... hard to believe it came out in 1979 cos it still sounds good and hasn't dated at all. I want to get "Pink Flag" on CD too sometime. I had a listen to some recently recorded WIRE on the net a few days ago and they still sound edgy and fresh! Guitars up the front... rock!

I remember way back when, high school days of B+W fotograffy, going around to wreckers taking pics of the wrecks. They were the good ol' days; and the guy that ran the place ALWAYS had a pitbull or bull terrier that was named "Mac" or "Rocky"...
